Nurture Yourself Strategy #3 - the most important strategy!

Nurturing yourself is the third of the 5 LMNOPs that will bring more health-promoting pleasure into your life. To me this is the most important strategy because we so often get too busy taking care of other people or our business that understanding and responding to our needs tends to get forgotten or comes last on the list.  In reality, to truly serve others it makes sense that we have to be strong and healthy ourselves.  I love this quote from Louise Hay:

When we really love ourselves, everything in our life works.

When people come to me with a problem, poor health, lack of money, unfulfilling relationships, or stifled creativity – there is only one thing I ever work on, and that is LOVING THE SELF.    Louise Hay, Author, Healer, Publisher.

So when was the last time you did something special, just for you?

What do you love doing?  Reading, playing sports, writing, cooking, being with friends....

How can you really nurture yourself? Taking a warm bath, walking in nature, doing yoga, eating fresh food...

How can you bring more of what you love into your life everyday?

My belief is that in order to stay healthy it is essential to nourish your soul by consciously doing something just for you everyday.  The message you are sending to your body and yourself by doing this is I am special, I am lovable, I am taking care of myself, I am important.

I invite you to take a moment to write out some of the things you love to do and that nourish your soul. You can also write an affirmation that you can repeat everyday such as: I do something everyday just for me Or; I do something I love everyday!  Post the affirmation on your fridge or bathroom mirror so you can remind yourself of the importance of nurturing and loving yourself everyday!

Next week I’ll talk about strategy 4; Opening your senses!

Until next week, be and love your true and amazing self and enjoy doing something you love everyday!
