Health & Healing

Health is the free flow of energy through the body and can be achieved through an ever evolving mind, body, spirit balance or equilibrium.

Your body has incredible untapped potential to heal, that potential lies in a place of peace, deep inside you. It is always there, always accessible. Silence unlocks the body's innate capacity to heal and helps you move towards greater inner peace, guidance and well-being.

Power to Change Interview

I recently wrote a chapter in a book called Power to Change.  It includes my chapter - 5 P's to Making Life Enhancing Changes as well as chapters from 18 other experts in various modalities of creating change.

In addition to outlining how to facilitate change, I answer the question - 'why do people often wait until they have a life-threatening diagnosis, like cancer, to make life-enhancing changes?'. The 5 P's are: Pain, Power, Permission, Passion and Purpose.  Please use this link to listen to my interview: http://www.thepowertochangetelesummit.com/audioseries.htm

Can Stress contribute to Cancer?

Last night I listened to a live interview with Dr. Paul Epstein, a naturopathic doctor and leading voice in the field of Mind-Body Integrative Medicine. He is a big proponent of treating the whole person and feels that treating the emotional side of the cancer question is just as important as treating the physical side. The interview addresses the question of the relationship between stress, and even early childhood stress, and trauma and cancer. He sites some new research findings that are very interesting and even surprising. He talks about some recent studies on the beneficial effects of meditation on the immune system as well.

How are leaky gut, inflammation and depression related?

I recently interviewed Ameet Aggarwal an amazing naturopathic doctor who lives in Kenya.  He pursued his studies in Toronto but has returned to his home country to practice naturopathic medicine in rural areas.  His area of expertise is treating depression and anxiety related disorders with a holistic, natural approach.

Today I asked him to talk to us about what contributes to depression in certain individuals. He explains that depression is a complex condition and its physical causes are highly influenced by our gut and other internal organs, our diet and our emotions.  His answer will give you insights into depression but also hints about healing from disease in general – which he claims is much more effective if emotional healing is part of the process.

Please leave your questions or comments below.

PS: Ameet has recenty published a book called Feel Good - please check it out or listen to his other videos  on his web site.

Giving is the Path to Grace

Giving is one of the noblest acts.  The interesting thing is that it is not only helpful for the recipients of the gift but also for the giver.  This week we move on to step 3 of the process of manifesting - Giving what you want to receive.  All acts of kindness come back to us in some way but the focus here is on a specific way of giving that helps you plant powerful karmic seeds.  The key is to give to others what you need to fulfill your intention.  So there is a conscious shift away from trying to accomplish or work towards your intention to a focus on helping others.

I invite you now to review your intention.  As you may remember, my intention is to share ideas in hopes of helping people view and experience disease differently.  So if I think about giving what I want to receive I would want to give people opportunities to share their views and insights about disease.  I may also give people the gift of encouragement and help them feel confident to speak their truth.

Over the next few weeks this will be my focus.  I already have an amazing friend in South Africa who asked if I could interview him about his naturopathic approach to healing and depression.  A normal reaction, if I was really focused on achieving a goal in a certain amount of time, may have been to say ‘No, I am too busy to interview you now.’  But I have experienced it first hand, the more you give, the more opportunities will come your way

I really hope you will try this amazing practice of giving what you want to receive.  In my case I am going to do interviews with people for the next couple of weeks.  Also, I intent to encourage someone everyday to speak their truth and try to help build their confidence in whatever ways I can.

What is your intention?  What help or guidance to you need?  Give that to others!

Enjoy the process of giving – just like random acts of kindness they have a wonderful ripple effect throughout the Universe!
